Newspapers can tell us more about life at Netley......

from the Abergavenny Chronicle 2nd April 1915
from the Labour Voice August 14th 1915

Many of the huts and beds in Netley hospital were sponsored by towns and cities whose residents raised funds and donated their efforts to help pay for their upkeep. The ladies especially were always having sales and fetes or asking for donations by collecting coins in tins, selling flags on "flag days" and writing letters to their local newspapers for help.

The article below is about a "Barmouth" bed.

from the Barmouth and County Advertiser 1st June 1916

Also donations of items were often asked for too.
