26720 Pte. Harry Doherty

Pte. Harry Doherty was a patient in the Welsh Hospital at Netley in WWI. It seems that he was in there for a very long time and was very popular with everyone.
In 1928 he was in an accident with his friend and they both sadly lost their lives. Below is a newspaper article describing what happened to this popular chap and the results of the inquest followed by a lovely letter from Nurse Thomas V.A.D. (now Mrs William Brindle) who helped nurse Harry when he was in the hospital.

Evening Telegraph April 9th 1928
Harry's medical notes are held at The National Archives at Kew.
