Early Case Histories

Here are some case histories of patients from the hospital. Some died and are buried in the cemetery. I was able to find out who the deceased were by checking the initials and death date with our burial register. The case histories come from the Army Medical Department Reports 1871 Vol. XIII.

Please be warned that some of the details may upset some people.

1145 Gunner Jonathan MOORE died 22nd May 1871.

Burial no. 204 C of E.

792 Pte. Thomas COOKE died 21st June 1870. Burial no. 176 C. of E.

707 Pte. George DOWNEY died November 15th 1871.

Burial no. 232 C. of E.

1708 Pte. Adam VENTRE died 23rd June 1871. Burial no. 220 C. of E.

 

704 Cpl. James BEALES died 29th January 1871. Burial no 193 C. of E.

2019 Pte. Fred FAUX died 19th January 1871. Burial no. 192 C. of E. The F in his surname was transcribed wrongly as a J.

90 Sgt. Thomas EAYLES died 11th June 1871. Burial no. 215 C. of E
